Opinion; Wearing Hats Should be Allowed in School

A kid wearing a hat, I do not own rights to this photo.

Is there even a good reason for hats not to be worn in the school buildings? Apparently wearing hats is distracting for students to learn and grow. But is that really true, there is no proof stating that wearing hats affects students’ learning ability. Hats actually can boost a student’s confidence. It can fix a bad hair day and keep our heads warm on cold winter days. When students wear hats during the cold winter days they have to take their hats off and put them in their school bag. Which could mess up their hat, by bending it or getting a pencil or marker on their hat when it’s placed in their school bag. We should not get in trouble for wearing hats in school. Should it matter what a student wears on top of their head, it’s their right to wear hats if they wanna. If any students were to wear hats it would mainly be the boys and some girls. No evidence shows that wearing hats is a problem for students to pay attention in class or do their work. No one really knows the actual reason why hats should not be worn in school because there isn’t evidence to back up that claim. It’s never been investigated or looked at closely. All they can say is that hats are “distracting and affect students’ ability to learn,” but no evidence states that. Schools really need to look at what wearing hats can do to a student’s confidence. Hats can fix many things like a bad hair day, bad haircut, fashion statement.  Many good things can come from students wearing a hat.
