Freshman generally feel overwhelmed by the bell schedules, but they usually adapt within a few weeks. Transitioning to a new schedule can be really difficult at first with students finding it hard to stay focused during longer class periods without adequate breaks. I interviewed this freshman named River Dunn. He said Tuesday is pretty hard because to get all my homework done with the after school band rehearsal till 7:30 sometimes over 7:30. He said short days are hard for him because it goes by so fast and in most of his classes we can’t get all we need to get done with that day. He said keeping up the 6 classes everyday he said it is easy since 4 classes are really short, it’s not that much work, somewhat,is pretty easy to lose track of what I have to do with after school band rehearsal on Tuesdays and Thursdays but even with those days I still find enough time to complete assignments. I feel like it’s more on the rushing side because classes are on such a tight schedule I would prefer to have longer blocks and interchange what classes I have to minimize the burn caused from so many classes everyday. I don’t think it’s that hard, you basically have every assignment on canvas so it would be pretty easy to get caught up at home. Having an earlier lunch because eating at 1:15 to 1:30 is pretty hard. Yes and no, first it’s a pretty small hallway and 8 minutes is pretty lenient, on the other hand, the such crowded hallways have like no space to walk in them, so you kind of feel rushed, he gave a 4 because there is really anything that’s wrong or anything that I hate and its NOT A 5 because I have 3rd lunch. The background is that freshman is more so have a lot of stress of getting their assignments done in 45 minutes in their first 4 classes everyday but late start is more stressful because we start at 8:50. I interviewed this freshman student named Sawyer Rhine, he said Tuesday because I often get assigned the most assignments out of the week, and then I have band rehearsal and then have to do said homework. The main class periods like 1A and 1B and 2A and 2B are a perfect amount of time, maybe a bit too short, but the 1.5 hour classes are WAY too long, I take into account that I don’t ever have homework in 4th block and kinda use that as a motivator it can be challenging but also manageable at times typically they feel too short to complete important tasks. I feel kinda rushed or dragged depending on the teacher and how fast they talk, for Coach Pait it’s pretty fast, but for Mr Sawyer it feels like it drags out but not in a bad way at all. The same subject every day works better for me as of right now, I don’t have alternating classes on my schedule, so I would not know truthfully it’s pretty easy overall on most days at least. A break period for maybe 20-30 minutes, it can give students that small window they need to finish work, calm down if stressed out, not at all A solid 4 mainly because like I said, a break period would be awesome.
